Swim Lessons

Group Swim Lessons

As the community’s leader in swim instruction, the Salt Fork YMCA delivers swim lessons and water safety instruction to children of all ages every year. Our mission is to help all swimmers  gain confidence in the water, overcome fears and build skills to last a lifetime.

What swim lesson stage is appropriate?

If you are not sure which level your child fits into register for the phase that is most appropriate for the swimmer’s abilities or ask the Swim Lesson Instructor for assistance in determining the appropriate group for them. Your child may also be moved by an instructor on the first day to the proper group.

Use our swim lesson selector to help you choose a class that is right for your child.

WHY CHOOSE SWIM LESSONS AT THE Y?
The Y has a long tradition of providing effective, high-quality swim lesson programs that teach people of all ages to have fun and be safe around the water. In fact, group swim lessons originated at the Y in 1909.

Taught by a certified swim instructor, our curriculum focuses on a core group of water skills every person needs to be safe around water. These core skills naturally progress to competitive swim strokes. Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their success, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety.
